Hello, I am writing to you from Aberdeen, Scotland to see if you have heard of a cabinet maker called William Innes, who left here in the 1800s and moved to Cincinnati. I have a bundle of old documents which I am sorting through, trying to find anyone to whom they might be interesting. There a few deeds relating to William Innes, and his adult children David, William, Robert, Margaret (married name Hand) and Isabella (married name Miller), formerly of Huntly, north of Aberdeen then of Cincinnati (deceased by 1858).
I found your blog article about a book on 1800s cabinetmakers, so thought you might have heard of Mr Innes.
I suppose I’m wondering if there would be anyone in Cincinnati interested in the documents – they’re not worth anything!
